At Home Pedicure: 6 Easy Steps to rejuvination!
An at
home pedicure
is a wonderful way to instantly feel revived! Below are 6 Easy Steps for doing your own at home pedicure:
STEP ONETo create an at home manicure remove existing polish with a cotton ball soaked in remover, clip nails straight across to avoid ingrown nails. The white tips should be no longer than an eighth of an inch. File nails from the corners in toward the center, in single, one-way strokes. Buff the surfaces with a thin, flexible buffing file or disk to remove ridges.
STEP TWOApply cuticle remover and soak feet in warm water for two to five minutes. (To lighten yellow stains, add a teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide or lemon juice to the water.)
STEP THREEWrap cotton around the end of an orangewood stick and use it to gently push back cuticles and clean under the edges of your nails. Massage your feet with rich granular body scrub. Rinse feet. Soften calluses and remove dead skin on damp feet with buffer or pumice stone. Rinse again.
STEP FOURDry feet thoroughly, including between the toes, and rub in a rich foot cream. Rehydrate cuticles by rubbing in a dab of cuticle oil. Wait two to three minutes.
STEP FIVEWipe off oil from the nail surface with nail polish remover. Trim rough, peeling cuticles. Apply base coat and let it dry for one minute. Add one coat of color, applying polish in three strokes (down the center, then one down each side) from the base to the tip.
STEP SIXWait two minutes and then apply a second coat of color, painting any polish remaining on the brush over the front nail edge (this prevents chipping). Clean up any errors with an orangewood stick wrapped with a wisp of cotton moistened with remover. Finish the job with a top coat and let nails dry for at least 20 minutes.
In a Hurry: THE QUICKIE PEDICURERemove old polish, trim, and file your nails. Apply one coat of fast-drying polish in a sheer, shimmery shade that forgives any errors.
